Invites the Secretary-General of the United Nations to undertake consultations with the Executive Secretary of the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries, with a view to promoting cooperation between the secretariats of the two bodies, in particular by encouraging meetings that enable their representatives to consult one another on projects, measures and procedures that will facilitate and expand their mutual cooperation and coordination;

Requests the specialized agencies and other bodies and programmes of the United Nations system to cooperate to this end with the Secretary-General and the Executive Secretary;

Requests the Secretary-General to submit a report on the implementation of the present resolution to the General Assembly at its sixty-first session;

Decides to include in the provisional agenda of its sixty-first session the sub-item entitled “Cooperation between the United Nations and the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries”.
