Commends the United Nations Children's Fund on its achievements;

Encouragesthe Fund to increase aid to countries passing through difficult transitional stages, particularly in Africa, without prejudicing the level of aid to othe"r countries requiring assistance;

Expresses the hope that the Fund will receive the necessary financial support to enable it not only to continue its successful work but also increasingly to meet the challeuge of extending its services.
