Requests the Secretary-General to appoint, in consultation with the membcrs of the Security Council, a representative to enter into discussions with the British Resident Commissioner designatc and with all the parties conccrning the military and associated arrangements that are considered nccessary to effect the transition to majority rule in Southern Rhodcsia;

Further requests the Sccretary-Gcneral to transmit a report on the results of these discussions to the Security-Council as soon as possible;

Calls upon ail parties to co-operate with the reprcscntative of the Secretary-General in the conduct of the discussions referred to in paragraph 1 of the present resolution.
