At its 46th plenary meeting, on 23 July 2010, the Economic and Social Council decided to defer its consideration of the draft resolution entitled “Upgrading the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia Section for Emerging and Conflict-related Issues to the level of a division and establishing a governmental committee on emerging issues and development in conflict settings”, recommended by the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia,48 until its resumed substantive session of 2010.
