At its 38th plenary meeting, on 25 July 2005, the Economic and Social Council took note of Commission on Human Rights resolution 2005/47 of 19 April 2005,53 and approved the decision of the Commission to extend the mandate of the Special Rapporteur on the human rights of migrants for a period of three years.

It also endorsed the Commission’s request to the Secretary-General to give the Special Rapporteur all the necessary human and financial assistance for the fulfilment of his/her mandate.
