Decides to designate 1 October as International Coffee Day;

Invitesall Member States, organizations of the United Nations system, members of the specialized agencies and observers of the General Assembly, other international, regional and subregional organizations and other relevant stakeholders, including civil society, Indigenous Peoples, local communities, the private sector and academia, to observe International Coffee Day, as appropriate, through activities aimed at raising awareness of the importance of coffee and its economic, social and environmental impacts, including for food security and nutrition, and its interactions with ecosystem functions, and sharing best practices in this regard;

Invitesthe Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, in collaboration with all relevant organizations, in particular the International Coffee Organization, to facilitate the observance of International Coffee Day, mindful of the provisions contained in the annex to Economic and Social Council resolution 1980/67;

Stresses that the costs of all the activities that may arise from the implementation of the present resolution should be met through voluntary contributions, including from the private sector;

Invitesall relevant stakeholders to contribute to and support International Coffee Day;

Requeststhe Secretary-General to bring the present resolution to the attention of all Member States, members of the specialized agencies and observers of the General Assembly, the organizations of the United Nations system and other international, regional and subregional organizations and other relevant stakeholders, including civil society, Indigenous Peoples, local communities, the private sector and academia, for appropriate observance.
