Takes note with appreciation of the letter dated 20 March 2013 from the Secretary-General to the President of the General Assembly regarding the new developments relating to the International Commission against Impunity in Guatemala, particularly the request of the Government of Guatemala to extend its mandate for a final two years, until 3 September 2015;

Calls upon the Government of Guatemala to continue providing all the support necessary to consolidate the achievements and overcome the challenges facing the work of the Commission as well as to redouble its efforts to strengthen the institutions that buttress the rule of law and the defence of human rights in Guatemala;

Expresses its appreciation to those Member States and other donors that have supported the Commission, through voluntary contributions, financial and in kind, and urges them to continue their support;

Requeststhe Secretary-General to continue to periodically keep the General Assembly apprised of the work of the Commission and the implementation of the present resolution.
