Notes with appreciation the facilities provided by the Government of Italy to the United Nations Logistics Base at Brindisi, Italy;

Approves the cost estimates for the United Nations Logistics Base amounting to 22,208,100 United States dollars for the period from 1 July 2003 to 30 June 2004;

Financing of the cost estimates

Decides to apply the unencumbered balance and other income in the total amount of 702,800 dollars in respect of the financial period ended 30 June 2002 to the resources required for the period from 1 July 2003 to 30 June 2004;

Decides also that the increase in the estimated staff assessment income of 13,000 dollars in respect of the financial period ended 30 June 2002 shall be added to the credits from the amount referred to in paragraph 8 above;

Decides further to prorate the balance of 21,505,300 dollars among the individual active peacekeeping operation budgets to meet the financing requirements of the United Nations Logistics Base for the period from 1 July 2003 to 30 June 2004;

Decides to set off against the balance referred to in paragraph 10 above the estimated staff assessment income of 1,258,500 dollars for the period from 1 July 2003 to 30 June 2004, to be prorated among the individual active peacekeeping operation budgets;

Decides also to consider during its fifty-eighth session the question of the financing of the United Nations Logistics Base.
