Calls upon Member States to redouble their efforts to implement the plan of action, as contained in the annex to the report of the Secretary-General,2 updated where necessary, to serve as the plan of action for the Second International Decade;

Calls upon the administering Powers to cooperate fully with the Special Committee on the Situation with regard to the Implementation of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples to develop a constructive programme of work on a case-by-case basis for the Non-Self-Governing Territories to facilitate the implementation of the mandate of the Special Committee and the relevant resolutions of the United Nations on decolonization, including resolutions on specific Territories;

Invites Member States, specialized agencies and other organizations of the United Nations system, and other governmental and non-governmental organizations, actively to support and participate in the implementation of the plan of action during the Second International Decade;

Requests the Secretary-General to provide the necessary resources for the successful implementation of the plan of action;

Also requests the Secretary-General to report to the General Assembly at its sixty-fifth session on the implementation of the present resolution.
