Notes with satisfaction the support expressed by the heads of State and Government of countries that use French as a common language for United Nations activities and their desire to begin a new partnership with the institutions of the United Nations system;

Welcomes the involvement of the countries that use French as a common language, through the Agency for Cultural and Technical Cooperation, in United Nations activities, in particular the preparation for, conduct of and follow-up to world conferences organized under United Nations auspices;

Notes the complementarity of the activities of the Agency for Cultural and Technical Cooperation and the United Nations, as well as the programmes and other institutions of the United Nations system;
