Urges all Governments to promote widespread dissemination of the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development 1/ in the public and private sectors;

Requests the Secretary-General to ensure that the Declaration is widely disseminated by the competent organs and bodies of the United Nations system, and that its principles are incorporated in their programmes and processes, in accordance with paragraphs 32 and 42 of chapter I of the report of the Commission on Sustainable Development on its first session. 3/
