Welcomes the call by the Association of South-East Asian Nations for the convening of aP International Con ference on lndo-Chinese Refugees and expresses the strong desire that the Conference take place at the mmis-

terial level at the earliest possible date during the first half of 1989;

Also welcomes the decision by the Executive Com mittee of the Programme of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees on the convening of the Con ference;

Requests the Secretary-General, in close co operation with the States members of the Association of South-East Asian Nations and other States concerned, to convene the Conference and to extend all possible as sistance to the parties concerned for the organization of the Conference;

Appeals to all States, the specialized agencies and re gional, intergovernmental and non-governmental organi zations to provide all the necessary support and resources needed by the High Commissioner for the preparation and the holding of the Conference;

Requests the Secretary-General to apprise the Eco nomic and Social Council at its second regular session of 1989 and to report to the General Assembly at its forty fourth session on the implementation of the present reso lution.
