Takes note with satlvfaction of the report of th(' Secretary-General on co-operation between the Unitc(l Nations and the Organization of African Unity 10 and commends bis efforts in promoting such co-opcratio11:

Reiterates the firm intention of the United N:1 tions, in co-operation with the Organization of African Unity, to intensify its efforts to find a solution to th:~ present grave situation in southern Africa;

Requests the Secretary-General to tak:e any other necessary action to strengthen co-operation between the United Nations and the Organization of African Unity in accordance with the relevant resolutions of the General Assembly, particularly with regard to the provision of assistance to the victims of colonialism and apartheid in southem Africa, and, in this connexion, draws attention to the Assistance Fund for the Struggle against Colonialism and Apartheid established by the Organization of African Unity;

Draws the attention of the Security Council to the need to take effective measures to associate the Organization of African Unity regularly with all the Council's work conceming Africa, including the activities of its committee on sanctions;11 5.

Invites the specialized agencies and other organizations concemed within the United Nations system to continue and intensify their co-operation with the Organization of African Unity;

Requests the Secretary-General to subrnit to the General Assembly, at its twenty-ninth session, a report on the implementation of the present resolution and on the development of co-operation between the Organization of African Unity and the organizations concerned within the United Nations system.
