Declares its continued interest in promoting the application of atomic energy to peaceful purposes :

Declares that a fourth international conference on the peaceful uses of atomic energy would be advantageous in achieving these objectives and should accordingly be convened under the regis of the United Nations, with the fullest possible participation of the International Atomic Energy Agency ;

Requests the Secretary-General, with the assistance of the United Nations Scientific Advisory Committee, in co-operation with the International Atomic Energy Agency and in consultation with appropriate specialized agencies :
a
To prepare plans for a fourth international conference on the peaceful uses of atomic energy, to be held in 1970 or 1971;
( b) To provide for a conference of somewhat shortened duration in comparison with those held in 1955, 1958 and 1964;
( c) To draft an agenda for the conference that would be of interest to public officials, economists and planners, as well as technologists;
d
To report to the General Assembly at its twenty- ! hird session;

Invites the States Members of the United Nationi; and members of the specialized agencies or of the International Atomic Energy Agency to participate in the conference.
