Requests the Secretary-General to appoint an expert committee of six individuals with practical, administrative and financial experience in the various fields of information-press, broadcasting, etc.-to be nominated by the Governments of Egypt, India, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the United States of America and Uruguay, and with instructions to undertake, in the light of the opinions expressed by delegations during the twelfth session of the General Assembly, a review and appraisal of the work, the methods used and the effectiveness of the results achieved by the public information services of the United Nations (including the information centres), with a view to recommending possible modifications to ensure a maximum of effectiveness at the lowest possible cost, and to report before the opening of the thirteenth session of the Assembly;

Invites the Secretary-General to present to the General Assembly at its thirteenth session the report of the Committee of experts, together with his comments and recommendations thereon;

Authorizes the Secretary-General to pay the travel subsistence expenses of the members of the Committee of experts and to provide the necessary servicing facilities.
