At its 3rd plenary meeting, on 16 September 2022, the General Assembly, on the recommendation of the General Committee as set forth in its first report,29 adopted a number of provisions concerning the organization of the seventy-seventh session.

At its 43rd plenary meeting, on 1 December 2022, the General Assembly, on the proposal of its President, decided to postpone the date of recess of the seventy-seventh session of the Assembly from Monday, 12 December 2022, to Friday, 23 December 2022.

At the same meeting, the General Assembly, at the request of the Chair of the Fifth Committee, decided to extend the work of the Committee until Friday, 23 December 2022.
