members of the Economic and Social Council for a three-year term of office beginning on 1 January 2014 to fill the vacancies occurring on the expiration of the terms of office of BULGARIA, CAMEROON, CHINA, DENMARK,

At its 53rd plenary meeting, on 18 November 2013, the General Assembly, in accordance with rule 140 of the rules of procedure of the Assembly, elected GERMANY, GREECE, ITALY and PORTUGAL as members of the Economic and Social Council for the remainder of the terms of office of IRELAND, TURKEY, the NETHERLANDS and SPAIN, respectively, beginning on 1 January 2014.

As a result, the Economic and Social Council is composed of the following 54 Member States: ALBANIA,**

One vacancy also remains to be filled for a member from Asia-Pacific States for a term of office beginning on 1 January 2014 and expiring on 31 December 2016.
