At its 118th plenary meeting, on 12 September 2011, the General Assembly, on the proposal of its President,40 guided by the Declaration of Commitment on HIV/AIDS,41 the Political Declaration on HIV/AIDS42 and the Political Declaration on HIV and AIDS: Intensifying Our Efforts to Eliminate HIV and AIDS,43 decided to include in the draft agenda of its sixty-sixth session an item entitled “Implementation of the Declaration of Commitment on HIV/AIDS and the Political Declarations on HIV and AIDS”.
